TrueCrypt 5: Encrypt everything on your hard drive

TrueCrypt

Most of us have some personal files on our computers. Hopefully no one has passwords or credit card numbers in a text file. For those who have only a few personal files we recommend that you download Lockbox. It is easy to use, and meets most users needs. If you want a program that offers more features check out TrueCrypt. It is free but packs many great features.

TrueCrypt 5 was released today, and has some great new additions:

Support for Mac OS X
New Graphical user interface for Linux version
Ability to encrypt system partitions

ThreatFire 3 Free Anti-Malware Program

ThreatFire 3

ThreatFire 3 is a free program that detects malicious software based on its behavior. The program requires no configuration so it is easy for anyone to use. When ThreatFire detects suspicious malware it immediately quarantines it, with lower risk malware it asks you what to do.

In our testing ThreatFire successfully blocked all installations of malware that we attempted. The success rate was higher than the well known Spy Sweeper.

The pro edition that costs $29.95, failed to clean up a system that was already infested. However we strongly suggest that you download this excellent security program.
